Hunted - Ch4
Anyone see this last night...new prog on ch4 done by the same tv company that does the island with Bear Grylls.

Basically, members of the public have to try and disappear for 28 days in the UK without being caught. They are given 450 quid to survive and are tracked by a selected group of ex old bill and anti terror units using CCTV and ANPR.
Looks like a good series. Fkn mental what they can search about you and find out just from looking online.

Anyone reckon they could hide for 28 days and not get caught ?

Surely you can buy a basic disguise and supplies at a market, jump on some buses to the arse-end of nowhere and live in the woods for a few days.

Bits were awful - the woman pretending to struggle when she got caught was pathetic. But I like the idea of the show, and reckon I'd be able to hide easily.

i was thinking about it last night..i actually applied to go on it...quite fancied me chances...just hitch hike everywhere...they aint gonna find you in the back of a lorry, bit of sleeping rough...would've been hard graft but would've loved to have had a go at it.

The camera crew would probably give it away quite quickly I'd have thought.

If you were really on the run, you'd be stealing cars, not taking buses!.

Did this not used to be on about 20 years ago? I am sure something like this used to exist?

Re: Hunted - Ch4
AVOR, Yes I believe this is based on an old channel4 programme called Wanted. It was a game show where pairs of contestants had to go on the run and perform certain tasks during the week without getting caught by the trackers. It was quite good. Think they won 5g every week they stayed uncaught.

hahah yes Davenport, agree with you mate...when that fella was heading to the caravan site, i really wanted the two birds to get caught...what an idiot..why go on the prog if you just gonna give em the chance to catch you all the time. Its only for 28 days not forever.

I haven't watched it. Do they get cash? Because if you have enough cash I would have thought it would be quite easy.

Bt if they don't then how does it work? Are they expected to steal food?

Re: Hunted - Ch4
fifth,

they get given a bank acc with 450 quid in and a cash card. The idea is that when they use the cash card to get money out, it flashes up on a screen and the people chasing em get the location of where they are. Turns out every cash point in the UK has a cctv on it and they had access to them. So they just log onto to the camera and then follow you for as long as they can leading the chasers to you.

OHL

Can they take it all out at once?

Fifth Column 11:16 Fri Sep 11
Re: Hunted - Ch4
Also couldn't they give the cash card to someone else to take the money out? I suppose that would be against the rules...

Jack_El_Biscuit 11:19 Fri Sep 11
Re: Hunted - Ch4
I'm not sure what the rules are. Presumably you can't just find an abandoned building, sit in there for a few weeks eating beans and shitting in a bucket as it probably wouldn't make great television.
